The Importance of the Conceptual Phase

Our May Blog Series – Part 1 of 3:

Website Development Management & Marketing

In the context of website development, conceptual refers to the initial planning and ideation stage where the foundation of the website is formed. This includes:

  • Defining the purpose and goals of the website (e.g., brand awareness, lead generation, e-commerce).
  • Identifying the target audience and their needs.
  • Developing the brand message and tone to be communicated.
  • Creating the site architecture or sitemap, including what pages or sections are needed.
  • Wireframing or sketching basic layout ideas, focusing on functionality and user flow without design details.

Content strategy – planning what kind of content will be included and how it supports the overall goal.
